01. The signal is placed
The booster is delivered into the living layers — the epidermis and upper dermis, where fibroblasts and keratinocytes are working. This is what separates a treatment from a serum.
02. Cells take it up
Skin cells absorb the vesicles and open the cargo. Built from the same lipid material as a cell membrane, an exosome reads as a legitimate message rather than a foreign substance.

“Exosome” describes a structure, not a standard. The vesicle is only the envelope — what decides the result is where it was harvested from, because that determines what is packed inside.

Common questions
What exactly are exosomes?
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles — microscopic spheres of lipid membrane, 30 to 150 nanometres across, that cells release to communicate with each other. Each carries growth factors, signalling proteins and genetic material. In skin treatment that cargo acts as an instruction to your own cells to repair and produce collagen, rather than an ingredient the skin absorbs — which is why results appear gradually.
How is this different from a normal skin booster?
Classic skin boosters supply materials — hyaluronic acid for hydration, polynucleotides for repair — so the effect is roughly proportional to what goes in, and fades as it is used up. Exosome boosters work one level up, delivering the signal that changes what your cells do. The two are complementary, and our doctors often plan them together.
Which option suits me?
The therapist-delivered booster is the entry point — chosen for dull, dry or tired-looking skin, and for upkeep between courses. The doctor-administered grades are chosen for overall ageing across the face — fine lines, loss of firmness, uneven tone — and for skin that needs more support. Your doctor recommends the fit at assessment, so you do not need to decide beforehand.
How is the booster delivered?
The therapist-delivered option is infused into the skin with a plasma device by a ClearSK therapist. The doctor-administered grades are administered by a ClearSK doctor in clinic, so they reach the living layers of the skin rather than sitting on the surface. Your doctor will explain exactly what your session involves before anything is booked.
How many sessions will I need, and when will I see results?
Most people notice brighter, better-hydrated skin within days, with firmness and texture continuing to improve for up to a month after each session. A course of 3–4 sessions about 4 weeks apart is typical. Individual results may vary.
Is there any downtime?
Any mild redness usually settles within a day. We recommend daily sunscreen and avoiding saunas and strong direct heat on the face for two weeks after each session. Your doctor will go through what to expect for your skin at your assessment.
How long do the effects last?
Effects typically last around six months after a completed course, with a maintenance session every 6–12 months to sustain them. Because the treatment changes cell behaviour rather than adding volume, results tend to fade gradually rather than ending abruptly.
Sun protection makes more difference to how long results hold than anything else you can do — ultraviolet exposure breaks down collagen faster than any course can build it.
